John goetz

LARGE SCALE - ABSTRACTS

" The visual language is organic with an  avoidance of obvious patterns. Goetz (henceforth ‘John’) chooses to emphasize gradients  like color, texture, and tone over rigid shapes and structures, playing in the murkier realms  that most accurately reflect the spectrum of human experience. What is depicted are  human forms and human emotions, although abstracted. There is an acceptance from  John for this lack of definition, even pridefulness. These paintings embrace the multiplicity  of humanity. They are raw, emotional, and vibrant. They are a testament to the joy of living  even when we don’t fully understand it. They are a mature expression of identity.  ”
