In her tree house studio the self taught ceramicist , Raina Lee finds her peace in the creative retreat she created in her home in Washington Heights in the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles.

Working primarily in ceramic glaze and clay, her practice is in conversation with classical ceramics as well as painting. She creates painterly compositions with extreme colors, volcanic textures, crackly finishes only possible through her custom ceramic glazes. She works on a range of forms— classical Chinese and Greek vessels, extruded 3D printed ceramic reliefs, and slab glaze paintings. Her work is influenced video games, science fiction futurism, and a Southern California immigrant upbringing.
